Provisional Certificates (Foreign Examination Boards)

Whenever a certificate is lost, an individual who has sat for an examination in Malta or Gozo can fill in the form to apply for a Provisional Certificate. The service applies for these examination boards:

• Edexcel / University of London;
• AQA (Assessment & Qualifications Alliance) / AEB (Associated Examining Board);
• University of Oxford years range 1964 – 1999; and
• City & Guilds years range 1968 – 1995.

The certificate will be provided by the Department of Examinations within 5 working days once all information is received.

Expression of Interest to provide Invigilation Services at Examination Centres in Malta and Gozo

The Department of Examinations within the Ministry for Education and Sport accepts applications from interested applicants to perform the role of Invigilator during MATSEC, and/or  local public examinations, and/or foreign examinations.

Prospective applicants must be at least 18 years of age by 1^st January 2027 and must not have attained the age of 78 by 31^st December 2027. Prospective applicants need to be computer literate.

School administrators, tertiary-level students and retired educators are encouraged to apply. Invigilation sessions will be held either in the morning or/and afternoon, and applicants can work in a flexible manner according to their time and availability.

Mandatory training will be provided to the selected applicants.

Interested applicants are kindly requested to submit the online application, attaching a CV & Police Conduct (issued not earlier than three (3) months prior to application).

The deadline for the applications is Monday 1^st March 2027 at noon (Central European Time).

Applications for November 2026 session are accepted online from Friday 25th September till Friday 9th October 2026.

Examinations are going to be held as follows:

Clashes between Edexcel/Foreign Examinations and MATSEC examinations

Following the implementation of revised procedures and enhanced security protocols, the Department of Examinations would like to inform all prospective candidates that, as of January 2026, it will not accommodate any clashes between Edexcel/Foreign examinations and MATSEC examinations.

Prospective candidates are kindly advised to carefully refer to the relevant official timetables on https://myexams.gov.mt/timetables/ prior to registration.

Edexcel October/November 2026

Applications for October/November 2026 session were accepted ONLINE from Monday 20th July  to Monday 27th July 2026.

*Requests for any additional/cancellations/amendments were accepted by email at raiza.mizzi@gov.mt between the 30th and 31st July 2026

Late Registrations were accepted ONLINE between the 7th and 10th August 2026. Late fees (double subject fee) apply.

Very Late Registrations were accepted ONLINE between the 28th and 31st August 2026. Late fees (triple subject fee) will apply.

**Access Arrangements were accepted from Monday 20th July 2026 to Monday 10th August 2026. The completed application form and all supporting documentation must be submitted by email to Ms Raiza Pisani at raiza.mizzi@gov.mt. For further information, please click here.

Candidates awaiting their May/June results could still apply for the October/November session during the registration period.

If the candidate obtained a passing grade in the May/June session, they could cancel their October/November application and receive a refund by sending an email to raiza.mizzi@gov.mt. A copy of the result slip showing the passing grade must be attached to the email.

Authorisation Examination for the Application of Authorisation of a Service Provider for Electrical Installations as per Electrical Installations Regulations (S.L.545.24) – January/February 2027

The next Authorisation A and B examination session is scheduled for January/February 2027, with applications opening in November 2026.
