The Department of Examinations is a recognised examination centre of University of London (UOL). Candidates who are studying with the University of London at Diploma/Degree/Masters level, can opt to sit for their examinations in Malta or Gozo.
The Department is also entrusted to hold examinations for the issue of the following licences: Wireman’s Licences ‘A’& ‘B’.

The Matriculation and Secondary Education Certificate (MATSEC) Examinations Board was established in 1991 by the Senate and the Council of the University of Malta. The Board was entrusted with the development of an examination system to replace the GCE Ordinary and Advanced level examinations set by UK examination boards.
